Process Mining course – PPgSI-EACH-USP

In the second half of 2020, professors Dr. Marcelo Fantinato and Dr. Sarajane Marques Peres will offer a process mining course, within the Graduate Program in Information Systems – PPgSI, with the following aims:

  • Enabling the student to: identify application contexts for process mining; identify the most appropriate techniques, methods and tools to deal with specific types of process mining; and evaluate the quality of the results obtained with the application of mining process.
  • Exploring the types of process mining in theoretical and applied contexts, considering synthetic and real-world problems.
  • Provide theoretical knowledge to enable the student to work for the scientific development of the process mining field.
  • Provide a practice environment for implementation and application of process mining techniques and for training in using “on the shelf” tools.

Classes will be taught in Portuguese, on Thursdays, from 2 pm to 6 pm, at EACH-USP (or in the distance learning format, depending on the guidelines of university leaders in relation to social distance because of COVID-19).

Besides students regularly enrolled in the PPgSI’s masters and PhD programs, this course will also accept special students. Registration for special students will open in mid-July. Those interested should follow the registration schedule here.
