Prof. Dr. Lucinéia Heloisa Thom

Lucineia Heloisa Thom is associate professor with Informatics Institute at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, UFRGS (Brazil). From 2018 to 2019 she was visiting Scientist at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. From 2010 to 2011 she was visiting Scientist at the University of Grenoble. Before, she was a visiting Scientist at the University of Ulm (2007-2009). She received her Bachelor’s in Computer Science from the University of Santa Cruz do Sul, Brazil (1999); her Master’s in Computer Science from UFRGS (2002); and her PhD in Computer Science from UFRGS (2006). She developed part of her thesis research at the Institute for Parallel and Distributed Systems of the University of Stuttgart (2004-2005). Her research interests are in the area of Business Process Management (BPM) with a special focus on process model extraction from natural language text, process quality, process execution, process visualization, healthcare process, process model adaptation and process mining.  Related to these topics she has 69 papers published. She has been serving as reviewer for many Journals and has been participating in several Program Committees. She was co-organizer of several events including the Latin American School of BPM 2015 and 2016, Tutorial and Panel Section of the BPM 2016, the Process Query Workshop and the First Workshop on Academy Meets Industry in Information System Engineering (Amise 2020). Currently, she is guest-editor of the Special Issue on Business Process Management, to be published inn 2021, the Revista de Informática Teórica e Aplicada (RITA).
